It doesn't take much to believe the fact that people spend a lot of time on social media, while the virtual world is dwarfing the physical one, whether from the emotional part, but also the material and tangible part. All these elements are contributing to the phenomenon otherwise known as "brain rot" (degradation of mental abilities, intelligence and sense of recognition).

The term comes from the idea that the Internet is keeping people online chronically, leading them to create memes or use unacceptable language.

"One of the easiest ways to tell if someone's brain has been destroyed by social media is to notice how often they refer to Internet slang or language," says TikTok creator Joel Cave.

Experts say that the sensory overload associated with spending too much time on the Internet and social networks can also physically harm users who are chronically online. While another detail is related to the difficulty of understanding another person beyond the screen of the phone, computer, etc.

It seems that many people are afraid of this phenomenon because it is hindering their ability to communicate. But, doctors say that it is not a question of a health problem that needs to be diagnosed, but another trend with the "symptoms" of modern times overloaded with the Internet and the virtual world.
