Let's face it, lately, she's one of the most talked about actresses in Hollywood! This is not only because of the roles in the film or the awards, but also the crisis claimed by the media between her and her husband, Benjamin Millepied.

Natalia Portman has not spared a short comment about this situation, describing everything that is rumored about her marriage as something terrible, especially since the couple's two children are also involved. The artist has chosen to have a private life away from the eyes and attention of the media, not using many social networks to convey different moments from family life, film shoots, events she participates in, etc.

It seems that in this big effort for privacy, Natalie has also explained a detail that maybe not everyone knows: the fact that she has changed her last name, from Hershlag to Portman, the current version. In an interview with Vanity Fair, where she talked about the new film, Portman also explained the important decision and the motives behind it.

"I was very protective of my family and my family name before I became famous. Over the years, I decided to have another last name as an interesting way to separate identities, the public one from the private one," said the actress.

"I would probably be upset if someone at school called me Natalie Portman, while everyone knows me by the last name Hershlag. It was kind of ambiguous about my identity, so I decided to change it growing up," said Portman, recalling that she began her artistic career at the age of 13.

She emphasized the fact that: "When I started having children and a family, I realized that maybe it was not useful to have two surnames, that is, two identities. So, being a public person and the pressure on that makes me give up my first name and keep it Portman," concludes the actress.
