Dutch artist Joost Klein has been excluded from the Eurovision 2024 competition, due to an incident that happened backstage. According to the Swedish police, he intimidated a member of the production. He was sent home and then a reaction was made that clarified the exclusion of Joost Klein.

"It would not be appropriate for him to continue the competition," Eurovision organizers say, calling his behavior "inappropriate."

Klein was one of the favorite artists and the most curvaceous names in this competition. He competed with the song "Europapa", of the techno genre. The song was dedicated to his late father, who died when the artist was 12 years old.

His turn in the final was replaced by Eden Golan's performance, representing Israel, while the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), which organizes the event, said it had zero tolerance for such incidents and that the police had investigated what happened, questioned the suspect, the plaintiff and the witnesses.

"The investigation has been completed by the police and the case will go to the prosecutor's office in a few weeks", said the EBU, clarifying that this behavior is a violation of the rules of the competition.
