Avril Lavigne was invited to the "Call Her Daddy" podcast, where she spoke, among other things, about the conspiracy theory that she is cloned and, in fact, the girl we see is called Melissa. The singer of the hit "Complicated", 39 years old, said that the rumor is baseless.

Asked by moderator Alex Cooper what is the craziest rumor that Avril has heard about herself, the artist said: "I know what you're talking about. I mean, it's so funny to me, that in the end, everyone says: “You haven't changed at all. You look the same," but there are people who believe in a theory that says it's not me. To be honest, it's not that bad, it could be worse, right?", she added laughing. "I think it's a good theory, I don't believe it's negative, it's not scary."

The rumor, which still circulates, has an early source. In 2003, it was claimed that Avril had passed away in 2003 after releasing her album "Let Go" and was then replaced by her name Melissa.
