Kourtney and Travis Barker are parents to a son, Rocky Thirten Barker, but beyond the joy he has brought into their lives, it seems that his pregnancy and birth have been the most terrifying and stressful experience for Kourtney, but not only.

The "Kardashians" star reflected on some of the physical issues that led to Rocky's birth while speaking during the fifth season of the Kardashian family's reality show.

“We had planned a scanner at home so all the kids could see the baby,” says the Poosh founder. "The doctor who came to the house is one of the most knowledgeable, detailed in every aspect and concrete in his requirements and ideas. During the medical visit he noticed that something was wrong and asked for a consultation with several other specialist doctors," she adds. .

While the at-home scan allowed Kardashian to reunite the family, she learned after the procedure that she needed emergency surgery on the fetus, despite being unclear about what the scan revealed.

"Timing is everything and I was really in the right place and at the right time," explains the 45-year-old. "The doctor told me I hadn't done anything wrong. It wasn't about age, but it was something super rare that happened,” Kourtney continues.

Speaking about the recovery, she emphasized that she was forced to stay on bed rest for several months. "I had a hole in the amniotic sac where we had to do the surgery," she said. "So I'm not allowed to drive. I'm not allowed to stand for more than 20 minutes. I really can't leave the house."

Despite Kardashian calling the experience a "trauma" for the couple, she revealed that she and Travis never gave up on the birth of their healthy son.

"I just feel so grateful for how everything turned out and for the doctors who helped make the best decisions that saved our baby. This is a miracle and we have to be super positive."
