The Italian Antitrust Authority has completed investigations related to the famous Italian influencer and the Easter egg scandal and the Pandoro case last year, where her companies were involved.
According to this authority, Chiara will pay 1.2 million euros to the charity "I Bambini delle Fate" for three years. All the companies involved in this fraud scheme appeared willing to pay the amount of the liability imposed by Antitrust.
At the same time, this authority will verify the full and correct implementation of the obligations by Chiara Ferragni's companies and in case of non-compliance, in addition to the reopening of the proceedings, an administrative sanction of up to 10 million euros will be applied, and if the situation is repeated it can go as far as closing down businesses for a period of no more than 30 days.
"Following the initiative of the Competition and Market Authority that started the proceedings on the "Easter eggs / Chiara Ferragni" case, the companies TBS Crew Srl and Fenice Srl announce that the investigation has been closed by the Authority, accepting the commitments proposed by the companies and other parties in process, as they are considered appropriate to guarantee consumer protection.
As a sign of reaction and encouragement for charitable activities, the companies involved in the process are engaged in the economic aspect, consisting of payments in favor of the "I Bambini delle Fate" charity association, for a payment for three years. The corresponding distributed profits, with a total minimum of 1,200,000 euros will be distributed over a period of three years.
With regard to charitable initiatives, companies have decided to clearly separate commercial activities from charitable ones, pledging to refrain from carrying out operations in which commercial activities are linked to charitable activities.
Finally, companies are committed to adopting their own internal regulation regarding communication and marketing activities, also inspired by best practices in the field. This will be followed by other protective measures that guarantee their implementation and accompanied by the organization of periodic trainings for the benefit of company employees.
How did you get to the legal charges for Chiara Ferragani?

The story became public in December, where some facts about the fraud with the charity campaign between Chiara and the "Balocco" company appeared in the Italian media. As claimed at the beginning of the campaign, the panettones would be sold in the market at a value of 9 euros (while the normal price is no more than 5 euros), while from the sale of each dessert a part would be donated to the hospital in Turin. When the scandal was revealed, the economic and financial crime authorities in Italy discovered that the "Balocco" company had actually made only one transaction of 50,000 euros in the hospital's account. This happened a month before the cooperation campaign between Chiara and the candy company started.
