Xherdan Shaqiri has announced that he will give up the Swiss national team. Through a post on Instagram, the 32-year-old footballer announced that his journey in the Swiss national team came to an end, after a 14-year career, many achievements and goals.
"Seven tournaments, many goals, 14 years with the Swiss national team and unforgettable moments. It's time to say 'goodbye' to the national team. Beautiful memories remain and I say 'thank you' to all of you", Shaqiri wrote.

Xherdani made his last appearance at Euro 2024 and is the only footballer who has scored in the last three world and European championships. Shaqiri has played as a striker in Bayern Munich and Liverpool.
