A company in China has recently introduced 10 days of 'dissatisfaction leave' for its employees, with the aim of promoting a better balance between personal and professional life.
Pang Dong Lai's founder and chairman, Yu Donglai, has announced that employees can request an additional 10 days off, acknowledging that "everyone has moments when they're not happy, so if you're not happy, don't come to work." This change allows employees to determine their own time off. Yu points out that "this leave cannot be refused. Refusal is a violation."
According to the company's employment policy, employees are required to work only 7 hours a day, have the weekend off, and can take 30 to 40 days of annual leave, along with 5 days off during the New Year. Yu stressed: “We don't want to be big. We want our employees to have a healthy and peaceful life, so that the company can be that way too."
"Freedom and love are very important," he added.
Earlier, the company also introduced a certification system for job levels, where Yu Donglai announced that "even sanitary workers can earn up to $70,000 a year, as long as professional skills reach a certain level."
Social media users in China have shown support for the changes introduced by the company. One user on Weibo (a social network in China) commented: "Such a good boss and this company culture should be promoted all over the country."
Another expressed a desire to work for Pang Dong Lai, saying, "I feel like I would gain happiness and respect there."
