Angelina Jolie had a touching moment at the Venice Film Festival. While promoting her biopic "Maria", the actress noticed a sick person in a wheelchair. The "Girl, Interrupted" actress, 49, got down on one knee and met the person, who suffers from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)*.

*ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, which control the muscles that allow us to move, speak, swallow and breathe.

Before entering the Sala Grande, at the premiere of the film where she plays the role of Maria Callas, the actress gently put her hand on the person's shoulder, talking a little with him.

Jolie looked stunning in her champagne gown as she greeted photographers in the second half of the festival. She made a long-awaited return to the red carpet, where she received a standing ovation for a full 8 minutes. Angelina returns after a long time to the cinema in the role of the legendary opera singer, Maria Callas, in a film directed by Pablo Larraín.
