Why Monday is so boring and how to make it a better day

Monday is often perceived as the hardest day of the week, but is this just a perception or is there a scientific basis for this phenomenon? Various studies have shown that the transition from the weekend to working days can negatively affect our emotional and physical state, making Monday more tiring and stressful.

A major factor in this is the change in the circadian (sleep-wake) rhythm. During the weekend, most of us tend to stay up longer and therefore sleep more in the morning. This causes a "social jet lag," (a type of disorder that occurs when our natural sleep patterns change), making it difficult to return to a normal work routine on Monday. According to experts, this change can affect the quality of sleep and mental performance during the beginning of the week.

Also, a significant psychological pressure is associated with Monday. The feeling of having to face a new week full of tasks, commitments and deadlines can create anxiety and stress. Studies have shown that levels of stress hormones, such as cortisol, rise more on Mondays than any other day of the week.

But how can you turn this difficult day into a good start to the week?

Start the week with something positive

Instead of focusing on challenging and difficult tasks, plan something enjoyable for Monday, such as an activity you enjoy or meeting a friend before work.

Create a morning routine that fuels you

Morning is the moment when you set the 'fate' for the whole day. Eat a healthy breakfast, get some exercise and take a few minutes to reflect.

Plan your week on Friday

If you take a look at the week's assignments coming up on Friday, you'll be better prepared and have a clearer idea of ??what to expect on Monday.

Reevaluate your perspective on work

If you see work simply as a burden and an obstacle in your life, it's normal to feel stressed on Monday. Try to focus on the positive aspects of your work.

Don't overload Monday with too many tasks

Plan an easier Monday and gradually increase the work flow during the week. This will help you start the day more calmly and not see Monday as a busy day.

By implementing these strategies, Monday can be turned from an obstacle into an opportunity for a fresh and energetic start to the week.
