In the October cover of "Vogue" magazine, Lady Gaga has talked about many things, from her musical career, to her role in the film that is expected to be shown in world cinemas "Joker: Folie à Deux", but at the same time she has also revealed details about her fibromyalgia disorder. from which he says he has been cured for some time.

The artist has faced this condition, after suffering a fracture in the pelvis during the tour "The Born This Way Ball" in 2012. In the last interview for "Vogue", Gaga says that only two years ago she managed to go on stage and perform without pain.

"It was the first time I sang without pain in my body and it happened during the "Chromatica 2002" tour. I have also given up smoking and this change has affected me a lot, especially in terms of health," she says.

What is fibromyalgia?

According to the Mayo Clinic in the US, fibromyalgia is a condition of chronic pain that spreads throughout the body causing fatigue, problems with sleep, memory, mood, etc. Researchers think this type of disorder affects the way the brain and spinal cord process pain signals. Other symptoms may include problems with concentration, according to the Mayo Clinic.

Symptoms can begin after a physical trauma, as in the case of Gaga who suffered a hip fracture. But also other conditions such as stress, operations or various infections can lead to fibromyalgia. About 2 to 4% of people live with fibromyalgia, according to the American College of Rheumatology, and it affects women more than men.

How is this disorder treated?

There doesn't seem to be a specific cure for fibromyalgia, but there are ways to ease the pain. In her Netflix film, Gaga is seen doing neck and shoulder massages and pain-relieving exercises. Other helpful strategies are swimming, yoga, walking or acupuncture. Relieving stress through meditation and deep breathing can both be a good way to treat this condition.
