On World Mental Health Day (October 10), Selena Gomez was a special guest at Wondermind's Mental Fitness Summit in London to talk about this very battle in her life.
Gomez spoke about her experience with mental health, revealing that she has been living in isolation and under this pressure for several years, while finding support from few people.

"I don't have many people in my life and that's the inner circle, like family and friends," she said. "I'm working with a therapist, but it's good to have people around you who listen. There's a kind of freedom in letting go of whatever is holding you down with that lump in your throat,” she adds.
In another moment, Selena was asked about how to take care of herself, whenever she is "occupied" by insecurity or the lack of desire to leave the house. This was the moment when the artist revealed that she had had so much trouble in the past with this part that now she never sleeps alone in her bedroom.
"I think having a positive self-talk, even if it sounds weird, is really good. I've had moments where I've been afraid to get out of the car because of the noises, or to sleep alone in the room out of fear, so having anxiety is such a weak feeling. For years I didn't want to leave my bed and it stopped me from doing the work I was doing. But the feeling of being afraid of sleeping alone in my room is still there today I never sleep alone," she concluded.
