Bekim Balaj retires from the Albanian national team

Bekim Balaj, the Albanian striker, has decided to end his career in the Albanian national team. The news was made public by the Albanian Football Federation, which announced that Balaj communicated the decision to coach Silvinho and his staff.

With the red and black shirt, Balaj played 48 games and scored 9 goals, including a decisive goal against Portugal in the Euro 2016 qualifiers, which gave Albania victory. Balaj was also part of the Euro 2016 squad and played in the match against Romania, which ended in a 1–0 win for Albania.

Currently, Balaj is part of the Vllaznia club in the Albanian championship, where he has an important role for the team.
