Jessica Simpson and her husband Eric Johnson have split. The singer and actress, 44, and her former NFL player husband, 45, are separating after 10 years of marriage. Simpson confirmed the news exclusively to People.
"Eric and I are living separately, dealing with a painful situation in our marriage," Simpson said. "Our children are our priority and we are focusing on what is best for them. We are grateful for all the love and support we have received and appreciate our privacy right now as we navigate this moment as a family.", she added.
Johnson was spotted wearing a wedding ring in November, around the time Simpson signaled a return to music with an cryptic Instagram post showing her in a recording studio.
"This comeback is personal. It's an apology to myself and for putting up with everything I didn't deserve."
Simpson and Johnson married in July 2014 after four years of dating and have three children.
The couple first met through a mutual friend in 2010 and got engaged after six months of dating.
