Let's face it, walking around like the protagonist of "Suits" or "Gossip Girl" all day has never been the most comfortable thing in the world.

Today, everyday heels seem like a part of the not-so-distant past, but there is a trend toward not wearing heels (at least high ones) during work hours.

In recent years there has been a shift towards more practical clothing and footwear options, with sneakers emerging as a flexible alternative to the once strict rules of the professional dress code.

Fortunately, that's not the case today. In fact, according to a report by market research firm NPD Group, post-pandemic women have reduced the frequency of wearing heels to work to once a week or only for important meetings.

During the pandemic, while we were working from home, it didn't matter what shoes we wore. Most major companies have now decided to allow sneakers and a general "casual-chic" dress code in the work environment.

Of course, sneakers aren't the only option for office style. There are some great alternatives. The truth is that in recent years, our daily lives have become so busy that we need to wear clothes and accessories that serve us all day long.

The fashion ecosystem responded to the changing needs and apart from designers, most brands made sure to integrate either into their already existing collections, or by creating dedicated series for modern workwear.
