As much as we all love to try different shades of makeup, you've probably noticed how different certain makeup colors can look on each person. Eye and hair color, as well as skin tone, play a very important role in what suits each person.
And while hair and eye shades are easy to identify, unfortunately the same is not true for skin, as it has two tones: the surface tone and the one that lies beneath the skin, known as the undertone. Furthermore, skin tone can change due to sun exposure, but the underlying tone never changes.
Both are equally important when choosing a foundation or concealer, because if we don't make the right choice, the result won't be beautiful at all.
There are three categories of undertones: cool, warm, and neutral.
The most common way to find out what your undertone is is to look at your veins. If they're blue, you have cool undertones, while if they're green, you have warm undertones. If this trick didn't give you the answer you're looking for, you can try the following technique taught by celebrity makeup artist Scott Barnes.

If you have a cool undertone, cool shades suit you (both in makeup and jewelry or clothing), if you have a warm undertone, warm shades make you look quite good, while if you have a neutral undertone, almost everything suits you.
