Priscilla Presley said seeing her marriage to Elvis Presley appear on screen in Sofia Coppola's 2023 film "Priscilla" was "difficult" but accurate - except for one detail, she said.
Priscilla, now 79, said the film — which was based on her 1985 memoir, “Elvis and Me” — didn’t quite live up to the ending. “It’s hard to see yourself in the film,” she said, adding that she had never met the director before learning she would be the subject of one of her projects.

While Priscilla said she was "very honored" that Coppola wanted to tell her story, she had one reservation about the director's decision to make the film. "It didn't end like in the movie between us, Elvis and I ended up with a lot of love," Priscilla said.
As she later explained, the couple maintained a close friendship even after their divorce in 1973, with the late megastar - who died aged 42 in 1977 - often showing up at her house "unannounced", even in the middle of the night.

"He was famous, he was loved, he was a beautiful man, [but] I just couldn't stand that situation anymore. It just wasn't a good life for me," Priscilla concluded when asked once again about the reason for her and Elvis Presley's split.
