Michelle Trachtenberg, known for her roles in "Gossip Girl" and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," has died at the age of 39.
Police sources confirmed the shocking news to TMZ, although the exact cause of her death remains unclear.
However, a source said that she recently underwent a liver transplant and had struggled with alcohol abuse problems for several years.

In recent months, the actress shared several disturbing posts on social media, appearing thin and pale.

She defended her appearance, telling the hateful commenters: "Explain to me how sick I look." She also reminded them: "Don't forget I'm not 14 anymore. I'm 38. How sad for you to leave a comment like that."

Michelle rose to fame as a child star in "Harriet the Spy." She later became a household name in her role as Dawn Summers in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and then as Georgina Sparks in "Gossip Girl."
