The new series, "The Baldwins," follows the chaotic lives of actor Alec Baldwin, his wife, Hilaria Baldwin, and their seven young children. But Alec also has a grown daughter, Ireland, from his previous marriage to actress Kim Basinger.
In the second episode of the show, he emphasized that his eldest daughter spends a lot of time with her brothers and sisters, while also talking about their former relationship.
"My relationship with my eldest daughter was negatively affected by my divorce from her mother," he said.
The divorce proceedings between the two actors lasted seven years.
"One of the saddest things about the whole divorce was how it affected Ireland."

In 2007, a voicemail message from the actor was made public, in which Alec was heard calling his daughter, then 11, a "rude and inconsiderate little pig," causing a huge backlash.
In the years since, Ireland has emphasized that she has put that moment behind her and has a good relationship with her father.
"It took a lot of time and a lot of therapy. We were both in really dark places in our lives. But I love him, I respect him more than anyone else... we love each other," she said.
Ireland has started her own family. In May 2023, she and her partner, André Allen Anjos, welcomed their first child, a daughter named Holland. Holland is almost the same age as Alec and Hilaria's youngest children.
