After just 35 days, the wait for Gucci's new creative director is over: Demna has been revealed as the brand's new creative director.

The designer will step down from his role as creative director at Balenciaga with a final fashion show on July 6.

Gucci's newly appointed CEO, Stefano Cantino, said:

“Demna will bring something extraordinary to Gucci. His way of defining fashion today is quite unique and that is what Gucci deserves and needs for the future.”

Now, Demna takes on his new role after the short-lived tenure of predecessor De Sarno, who was creative director from January 2023 to February 2025.

Demna, of Georgian origin, is the designer who transformed Balenciaga from a luxury fashion house into one of the most provocative, boundary-breaking brands of the last decade.
