Forgetting someone's name, especially after they just told you, can be incredibly embarrassing, but it's a common experience we all go through. Some people are more open about forgetting someone's name and ask endlessly until they hopefully nail it, while others try some unique methods to sneakily figure it out.
Here are 5 of these expressions:
1. “Why don't we record each other's numbers?”
Asking someone to put their name and number in your phone is an easy way to learn their name. Of course, this also depends on your relationship with the person in question.
2. “Let me introduce you to someone.”
Now, the style here is to let those two people introduce themselves to each other, so be careful not to give the impression that you're going to do the introducing, otherwise you'll fall into your own trap.
3. “Hey… how are you doing today?”
We all know that person who never calls you by your name, but by 1001 other nicknames. Well, it's time to tell you that you're probably not the only "star", "heart", or "soul" of that specific person, they just don't remember your name. However, use it as an example when you find yourself in the same situations.
4. “What does your name mean?”
Again, it's good to be lucky and the person's name isn't "Manushaqe." Other times, this question saves you from an awkward situation...or gets you into another mess by hearing the deep story behind the meaning of a person's name.
5. "Why aren't we being followed on social media?"
This can be the best method to remember someone's name without seeming like you've forgotten it. However, it doesn't always work, as the person may not have social media or use a pseudonym.
