A massive fire swept through a crowded nightclub in North Macedonia on Sunday, killing 59 people and injuring more than 150. Authorities have arrested 15 people, including the party's organizers, in the aftermath.

The fire broke out at around 2:30 a.m., with only 39 of the victims identified so far. Authorities warn the death toll could rise further, with 20 of the injured remaining in critical condition. The government has declared seven days of national mourning to honor the victims of the tragedy.

The Vatican on Sunday released the first photo of Pope Francis since his hospitalization. The photo shows the Holy Father in typical Lenten attire - while sitting in a wheelchair.

The Vatican said he was taking part in the celebration of Mass with other priests from the Gemelli hospital in Rome.

Pope Francis was rushed to hospital after a week-long bout with chronic bronchitis that turned into double pneumonia. His condition is reported to have improved.

Houthis respond to Trump's airstrikes with ballistic missiles

The Houthis announced they launched an attack consisting of 18 ballistic and cruise missiles, along with drones, targeting the aircraft carrier USS Harry S Truman and its accompanying warships in the northern Red Sea on Sunday.

Houthi military spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Saree said the attack was a response to more than 47 US airstrikes - ordered by President Donald Trump.

Both Washington and the Houthis have warned of further escalation after the US airstrikes, which were aimed at preventing the rebels from attacking military and commercial ships.

Tornadoes sweep southern US, 37 dead

At least 37 people have died after dozens of tornadoes, strong winds and storms ripped through the United States over the weekend, destroying homes and other structures in several states.

Deaths were reported in Kansas, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Arkansas, Texas, Alabama and Missouri. In Kansas, at least eight people died after more than 55 vehicles were involved in a massive highway crash caused by a dust storm.
