In a televised message on Tuesday, Netanyahu said, among other things, that Israel had made efforts to return the hostages, and therefore had extended the first phase of the ceasefire.

According to him, Israel sent delegations to Doha and Cairo, but each time Hamas rejected the proposals, which brought back massive attacks. The attacks that have been launched and will continue are "just the beginning," the Israeli prime minister said.
