If you're not a very adventurous person when it comes to skirts, you're probably pretty skeptical when a new skirt trend comes around. One thing we can assure you that might tempt you is this skirt endorsed by actress Elizabeth Olsen, who just wore what could be considered the most controversial skirt trend of the season: knee-length skirts.

History shows that this trend was cool in the 90s (see Kate Moss' example below), but then miniskirts happened and the rest is history.

Unlike miniskirts, knee-length skirts gained a reputation for being "old" or associated with conservative office attire.

But brands are working to revive the skirt trend, as a slew of models wore knee-length skirts on the runway.

Olsen paired her knee-length black skirt with a red blouse, camel jacket, and black flats. She looked elegant and anything but "traditional" or "conservative."
