Since "Adolescence" debuted on Netflix, it has become the most-watched series worldwide and one of the most successful of the year. Everyone is analyzing the content of the episodes, so much so that fans have started theorizing about the photos of children that appear at the beginning of the episodes.
As you may have noticed, at the beginning of the episodes, there are some pictures of children. Someone on Reddit asked: "Does anyone know what these pictures mean?"
Some people thought they were photos of stabbing victims, as a homage to the series' main theme. Others thought they were photos of the series' actors when they were children, based on their resemblance.
The second theory is true. Netflix confirmed that “these are childhood images of the young actors of the series, taken with their consent.”
Someone wrote that the use of these photos aims to highlight the innocence of children and how vulnerable they are to manipulation.
