What did we learn from "The Dalina Show" about anxiety?

Anxiety is a topic that we often don’t talk about enough, but it affects many people in different ways. On a recent episode of “The Dalina Show,” several women shared their stories to show how anxiety has impacted their lives and how they’ve managed to cope with it. Each story was unique, but ultimately, they all shared some common ground.

Although the causes varied, the symptoms of anxiety seemed similar for all:

• Panic attacks and feelings of suffocation

• Insomnia and constant worry

• Loss of appetite and drastic weight loss

• Excessive thoughts and social isolation

• Difficulty concentrating and feeling unexplained fear

Kristell Cerriku, for example, said she had never imagined herself with anxiety, but as she became more popular on social media, she began waking up at night with a pounding heart and a feeling that something bad was coming. Meanwhile, Orgita experienced anxiety since childhood, when her parents divorced and her father forced her to leave her mother, causing her a constant feeling of fear and insecurity.

Ways of coping

The treatment of anxiety has been different for each of the guests. Some decided to seek professional help, attending therapy and using medication. Eridiana, for example, after going through difficult years, decided to visit a psychiatrist and began treatment with medication, seeing significant improvements. Elona Jaçellari followed a similar path, combining therapy with medical treatment to reach a more stabilized state.

Meanwhile, others have chosen alternative methods. Suela said she had refused to take antidepressants, but found relief in meditation and a shamanic experience with ayusca, which helped her manage anxiety naturally. Diana, after serious health experiences, learned to control her anxiety on her own, without medication.

What lesson can we learn from these stories?

From these women's stories, we learn some important truths about anxiety:

1. No one is immune to anxiety. It can affect anyone, regardless of age, profession, or lifestyle.

2. Anxiety does not have a single cause. For some, it comes after a traumatic event, for others as a result of accumulated stress over years.

3. Treatment is not the same for everyone . Some people find help with therapy and medication, while others choose alternative methods like meditation or lifestyle changes.

4. Help is essential. Regardless of the path chosen, all those who sought help, whether professional or through other techniques, saw improvements in their lives.
