Nick Carter Sued for Sexual Assault by Woman: "He Gave Me HIV"

Nick Carter is accused of sexually assaulting and transmitting a sexually transmitted disease (STD) to a woman. The woman even claims that sex with the singer caused her cervical cancer.

On the other hand, the singer has categorically denied the allegations through his lawyers.

According to the lawsuit obtained by People, Laura Penley alleges that Carter sexually abused her around 2004, when she was 19. As she describes it, they had sex between December 2004 and February 2005 and met for several weeks in Los Angeles.

Penley says they had at least three consensual encounters, but the situation took another turn at Carter's Hollywood apartment. Although she claims she asked him to use protection, he refused, assuring her he didn't have any sexually transmitted diseases or viruses.

The lawsuit also reports that during a meeting in early 2005, she had gone to the singer's house just to watch movies, but Carter allegedly told her:

"The only reason you're here is to have sex."

According to the lawsuit, the sexual assault took place in his bed, despite her repeatedly saying "no."

The singer allegedly did not use any protection during sexual intercourse, transmitting various sexually transmitted diseases to her, including the HPV virus, which is known to be linked to health problems such as cervical cancer.

In August 2005, Penley was reportedly diagnosed with stage 2 cervical cancer and was forced to undergo a series of treatments. As the lawsuit points out, the effects were severe: emotional distress, physical pain, medical problems and psychological trauma.

The singer denies the allegations.

The singer's legal representatives have denied the allegations against him, saying that the plaintiff and Nick Carter have never met.

"Nick does not recall ever meeting Laura Penly. He never had any romantic or sexual relationship with her. Never!," the lawyers said.

Melissa Schuman, Ashley Repp and Shannon Ruth have also accused the singer of sexual assault, making Penly the fourth woman to sue him with the same claim. Carter has consistently denied all allegations.
