NATO chief reaffirms support for Ukraine during surprise visit to Odessa

NATO's support for Ukraine remains "unwavering," the alliance's secretary general has said, noting that more than 20 billion euros in assistance has been provided for the country's security in the first three months of 2025.

Mark Rutte made a surprise visit to Ukraine on Tuesday and met with the president, Volodymyr Zelensky, in the southern port city of Odessa.

"I am here today because I believe that the people of Ukraine deserve real peace and security in their country, in their homes," Rutte said during a joint press conference with Zelensky.

Prisons in France attacked with guns, vehicles burned

Several prisons in France have been attacked with weapons and several vehicles near them have been burned, according to local authorities.

The perpetrators shot at a prison in Toulon, while vehicles were burned in the parking lots of several prisons, according to various French media reports and posts distributed on social networks.

In addition to Toulon, other prisons that were attacked were in the areas of Aix-en-Provence and Marseille, Valence and Nîmes, Luynes, Nanterre and Villepinte.

20 Albanian immigrants arrested: Sailing to Britain by yacht

Three Albanians have been arrested by British authorities after 20 migrants were found hiding on a luxury yacht bound for the South Coast of Britain.

The large luxury liner is believed to have sailed from Brest, France and was caught in the English Channel en route to Newquay on Sunday.

During the search, 20 passengers were found hiding below deck.

All are suspected to be Albanian nationals. The 19 men and one woman have been arrested and are expected to be deported from the UK, a Home Office spokesman said.

Chinese soldiers claim they were deceived by China

Two Chinese soldiers taken hostage fighting against Ukraine have declared that Russia has been deceiving them the whole time.

Wang Guanjung and Zhang Renbo were captured fighting for Russia in eastern Ukraine earlier this month, according to the Telegraph.

Handcuffed and dressed in military uniforms, they said at a press conference:

 "All of Russia has been feeding us lies. Russia is not as strong as they claim and Ukraine is not as backward as they say."
