Lizzo has been on a mission to live a healthier lifestyle lately. After losing 16% body fat, over 30 pounds from her starting weight, she's shedding some light on how she did it.
The singer appeared in a live video on TikTok to talk about her weight loss journey and heavily linked her transformation to cutting out certain foods from her diet.
For example, Lizzo said she used to drink 2-3 Starbucks drinks a day, which contained about 1,200 calories. She has now completely stopped drinking Starbucks — and coffee, too — focusing on a "calories in, calories out" approach.
"Calories in, calories out" refers to a fundamental concept in weight management and the body's energy balance. It is a way of describing the balance between the energy the body takes in from food and drink (calories in) and the energy the body expends to carry out various life functions (calories out).
With that, she has started prioritizing eating "super tasty" foods for breakfast instead of "sweet things."
Lizzo also explained that losing weight is playing a key role in helping her overcome anxiety, saying:
"I liked to be distracted by people. I liked to be distracted by food. I liked to be distracted by alcohol. I liked to be distracted by problems that I created myself. I liked to do this. And I stopped doing this."
After the video, Lizzo gave fans a glimpse of the healthy foods she's currently eating, posting a TikTok showing off a bowl of bison meatballs, beans, rice, and cabbage.

Some people previously accused Lizzo of using the popular diabetes drug Ozempic for weight loss, but she denied these accusations.
Clearly, Lizzo is feeling good and living healthier than ever.
