At the Cannes Film Festival for 2019, the most important award Palme d'Or went for the thriller-comedy movie "Parasite" by South Korea's director, Bong Joon-ho.
Likewise, the French director from Senegal, Mai Diop, became the first color director to win a prize in the 72-year history of the Cannes Film Festival.
Best actress was nominated for Antonio Banderas for his role in "Pain and Glory" while best actress Emilu Beecham in "Little Joe". Quentin Tarantino's "Uncle At a Time in Hollywood" left empty-handed.
