Kolynos was called an oral care product line, created by Newell Sill Jenkins, that was extremely popular during the 1930s and 40s. It was the best-selling toothpaste, after Colgate. At the peak of fame, Kolynos was advertised and marketed in Albania.

"Colynos removes ugly yellow spots at once, causes the germs of the mouth to rot and makes the teeth beautiful and white. Use Kolynos, the antiseptic toothpaste, ?reads an ad in an Albanian newspaper published in the 1930s.

Like many other products in the country, such as the croissants or gum referred to by the most famous brand name it trades, toothpaste has had the same fate. The same thing happened in Peru, where Colynos is synonymous with toothpaste.

The word kolynos comes from the Greek kolyo nosus which means disease preventer and the combination of these two words say ornamental and disease preventer.
