Women in their 40s and 50s who have sex at least once a week are 28% less likely to have premature menopause than women who have sex once a month or less. However, this is not the only reason for having an active sex life. Sex does you good. Here's what science says.
1. Sex does you good for the heart
You don't have to go to the gym to get your heart working. During sex, the heart is moderately magnified, as if you were climbing a pair of stairs. 150 minutes of physical activity per week is recommended and hot minutes in bed are worth it, however few.
2. Sex reduces stress
Sex and masturbation reduce stress to extraordinary levels. A 2006 study found that people who have sex or not have sex are more likely to cope with stress.
3. Sex increases well-being.
A 2007 study of about 3,000 Americans found that those who were sexually active were healthier than others. Sure, people can be sexually active because they are healthy, but other studies have also proven the right link between sex and well-being.
4. Sex is a natural drug
People like to be touched and touched because during intimate contact, the brain releases the oxytocin hormone, known as the love drug. Oxytocin released during sleep makes you feel at peace and loved.
5. Sex conserves intelligence
Studies by Coventry University found that people who are sexually active at a later age are more intelligent than those who are not.
6. Sex removes diseases, perhaps
There is endless evidence proving that sex is linked to higher levels of immunoglobulin A. An 2004 study found that people who have sex once or twice a week have 30% higher levels of immunoglobin A compared to those who do not have sex.
