"Gangs of London", the title suggests that it deals with London gangs, focuses on the Wallace family, one of the largest criminal organizations in the city. After the death of Finn Wallace, his son Sean (Joe Cole) tries to take revenge and, as expected, is involved in the murder. The series was created by director Gareth Evans, who in an interview with Sky News (via Bustle) told whether or not the series was based on a true story.

Evans said he worked with police to better understand the details. "It was interesting to see how things worked in the cities. It was necessary to understand how these people work that you will never meet. " However, despite knowledge of how criminal organizations interact, most of the scenes in the series are the result of the imagination of the creators.

Interestingly, "Gangs of London" was inspired by a very, very old game on the Playstation of the same name.
