Christina Aguilera would probably not be known by the world as Christina Aguilera. In an interview with Billboard, she revealed why at the beginning of her career, managers didn?t want to be introduced to her real name,
"I remember in the beginning of my career, there was a big debate to change my name because they thought it was long, very complicated and very ethnic," she said.
Christina has a diverse background. Her father was born in Ecuador, while her mother is of German, Irish, Welsh and Dutch descent. Instead of attacking her background, the managers wanted the singer to delete this.
"Christina Agee was one of the options. I was extremely against the idea of changing the name. This is me. Being Latin is part of my background, ?she said.
Not in vain, Xtina has also published Spanish versions of "Genie in a Bottle" and "Come On Over Baby (All I Want Is You)."
