This year, the pandemic conditioned people all over the world in many respects, including entertainment, which is also limited after the closure of most activities.
Despite this, Albanians have always tried to give the right importance to going out and having fun. According to an article published on Monitor.al, on average every year, Albanians spend 3.1% of gross value added in the country for entertainment and culture, which for 2018, according to INSTAT data, translates into 360 million euros.
Of course, the question naturally arises which of the cities is at the top of the list when it comes to fun?
As you might have guessed, the first place is held by the capital. Tirana spends about 4.8% of money on entertainment, a value which has remained unchanged from last year, despite the situation.
The second most popular city after spending time and entertainment activities is Korça, but even there there has been a reduction in spending compared to 2018.
Lezha is ranked third with 2.6% of gross value added, increasing significantly from 2% the previous year.
After Vlora and Shkodra, comes Durrës, which has decreased from 2.4% to 2%.
The Albanian city that seems to have significantly given up entertainment is Gjirokastra. Although a few years ago it was the strongest competitor of Tirana, in recent years it has become more "frugal" when it comes to fun.
Kukësi, Dibra are listed at the bottom of the list, while Fieri is one of the cities in Albania that has almost no fun. Only 1% of gross value added is spent on cultural or entertainment activities.
