"14 years ago, I forgot everything and ran away from everyone. Riccardo and I lived together, but it was a period of fake, false situations. "I was afraid that if I showed my sexual orientation I would not be able to work anymore. I was afraid that the public would feel mocked, but at the end of the day the one who was mocked was me. I had very difficult moments, "Terrible thoughts, but today I am happy for who I am and because I probably would not be this if I did not go through what I went through. Now people can know me for who I really am."

As for the famous story with Eva Grimaldi, Garko says that he stayed with her for 8 years and that they were a couple, despite the fact that there was no sex between them. 

"We helped each other a lot. I loved him a lot, but not as much as people could have imagined. I loved him as a person and I could have really married him."
