The search engine, Google has brought a tool "Shazam for humming", allowing anyone to find out what is the title of the song after a melody or fragment that has stuck in your mind.
To use the new option, open your latest (ie, updated) version of Google App, tap the microphone icon and say "What's this song?", Or click the "Search a song" button.
Whistle or sing the melody for at least 10 seconds. The artificial intelligence system will search its database to introduce you to a list of possible songs.
"One simple way to explain it is that the melody of a song is like a fingerprint: Everyone has their own unique identity," said Krishna Kumar, Senior Product Manager at Google Search.
"When you search for a tune on Google, our machine learning patterns turn audio into a number-based sequence that represents the melody of the song. Our models are trained to identify songs, based on a variety of sources, including people who sing, whistle or buzz, as well as studio recordings. "
Aparna Chennapragada, a Google vice president who unveiled the new option, said people ask Google "what song is this" nearly 100 million times a month, or search for text phrases to get the song displayed.
