To commemorate his 20th wedding anniversary to Catherine Zeta-Jones, Michael Douglas shared a touching audio message on Instagram detailing exactly how he asked her to date 1998.

Ever since the two began dating, they have managed to be one of the most enduring couples in Hollywood, avoiding scandals and drama.

The couple married in 2000 and have two children together, Dylan, 20, and Carys, 17.

In his message, Douglas says that Zeta-Jones caught his attention when she was starring in the movie "Zorro" and they met for the first time at the Deaville Film Festival, although things were not easy at first.

I'm at someone's house in Hollywood and they're showing the movie 'Zorro.' I watch the movie and say, “Wow, who is this girl? Fantastic!"

A month later, I'm at the Deauville Film Festival and I see on schedule that the next day, there would be "Zorro." They tell me that “Zeta-Jones will only be here for one night. "She is in the middle of filming 'Entrapment' with Sean Connery, but would like to have a drink with you."

Doulgas goes on to say that he almost ruined everything with an "idiotic phrase" he said.

I'm sitting on the grass and thinking 'Oh God!' When she comes. We sit down and keep talking.

At one point, I see her and say, "I will be the father of your children," and she tells me:

"I had heard a lot about you and I see that they were true. Good night ", and left. The next morning, he also left the festival.

Although the first impression on the actress was not so good, Douglas still managed to win Catherine's heart.
