What is 'intimacy anorexia'? Signs that you and your partner may have,

"Intimacy anorexia" is a term coined by psychologist Dr. Doug Weiss to explain why some people "actively keep away emotional, spiritual and sexual intimacy". Issues related to emotional or physical intimacy can have a major impact on romantic relationships. Loving someone, after all, generally means wanting to share thoughts, feelings, and physical affection.

When you love your partner but feel insecure if they still feel the same way about you, the relationship may start to feel empty. Mental health professionals have different frameworks for looking at privacy issues, but few recognize intimacy anorexia as a current condition.

Signs of anorexia nervosa

According to Weiss, people with anorexia intimacy usually:

1. Keep yourself busy with childcare, homework, orders, technology or work.

2. They blame you for losing intimacy in the country to deal with their behaviors.

3. Avoid showing love in the way your partner likes.

4. Stop complimenting or praising regularly.

5. They have no interest in physical intimacy at all.

6. Show little interest in connecting on a spiritual level.

7. They avoid talking about their feelings, making it difficult to bond on an emotional level.

8. Treat your partner as a roommate, not on a romantic level.

9. They have outbursts of anger.

10. Criticize.

The most common causes:

- Sexual traumas
- Sex addiction
- Poor role models
