TikTok star Dazharia Shaffer, the teenager known on social media as "Dee" has passed away at the age of 18 as a result of suicide.

The news was confirmed by the girl's parents through a video on TikTok.

"Unfortunately she is no longer with us. She has moved to a better place. She was my best friend and I was in no way prepared to bury my child. I wish she had told me about her stresses and "Suicidal thoughts. We could have gone through this together."

Dazharia, through TikTok videos and challenges quickly gained fame and in a short time was followed by 1.4 million people. The teenager was also very popular on Instagram and YouTube where she shared videos of viral challenges or documented parts of her daily life.

On Monday, a day before the police confirmed her death, the Tik Tok star had posted some Instastory, the description of which read: "Recent Posts".
