Although the process of mass vaccination has started in the country for two months, Albania is still ranked far from most European countries, in terms of immunization of the population through vaccination.
According to Worldindata data, published on Monitor.al (and updated until May 4-5), 19.3 vaccines per 100 inhabitants were provided in Albania, compared to 32.3 which is the European average and about 36, which is European Union average and slightly above the global average of 15.5.
At the top of the list in Europe is Malta, which has administered 80 doses per 100 inhabitants. It is followed by the United Kingdom, which continues to maintain high rates, with 75 doses per 100 inhabitants, followed by Hungary, which has this indicator at 66.
In terms of Balkan countries, in the first places is Serbia with almost 52 doses per 100 inhabitants, ranking fourth in Europe. Where does our country rank?
Among the 10 European countries that have received fewer vaccinations, although after Serbia it is second in the Balkans for the fastest pace. Montenegro has also increased in recent weeks (13.6). They are behind with the vaccination of Northern Macedonia, Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina, which have not managed to give more than 5 doses per 100 inhabitants.
