"Halloween Kills" star Jamie Lee Curtis has something to say about the rise of plastic surgery in humans, but not humans.
"The current trend of fillers and procedures, and this filtering obsession, and the things we do to fix our Zoom look are wiping out generations of entire beauty," the 62-year-old actress told Fast Company.
"Once you start teasing your face, you can't turn it back."
Curtis has a personal experience of this. After minor plastic surgery on her eye area in 1989, she was given pain medication, which made her develop an opioid addiction for 10 years.
"I tried plastic surgery and it didn't work. It made me addicted to Vicodina."
Curtis believes that society's "fixation" on achieving perceived physical perfection stems primarily from social networks, which it avoids as much as possible.
"I use social media to sell and learn more about things that interest me. The rest is cancer. We do not know the side effect in the long run, but we have a generation of young people who are in agony because of social media, "Because of comparisons with others. We who are older know that it is all a lie. It is a real danger to young people."
Curtis has previously talked about her past cosmetic procedures. She admitted to the Telegraph that she made lipostucin, a little botox.
"And you know what? None works. None of them," she added.
Recently, Curtis revealed that she avoids seeing herself in the mirror because "she does not look the same as she once did and will not face this every day."
