Nick Cave announced that his eldest son, Jethro, has passed away at the age of 31.
"With great sadness, I confirm that my son, Jethro, has passed away. We would be grateful for the privacy of the family at this time, "said the singer.
In April, Jethro was found guilty of physically assaulting his mother, Beau Lazenby. His lawyer reported that he had been diagnosed with schizophrenia. The model was jailed and released last weekend. He had previously been convicted of assault in 2018, against his then-girlfriend.
Jethro was born in 1991, ten days before Nick Cave's second son, Luke, to his first wife, Viviane Carneiro. Jethro grew up in Australia and did not meet her father until she was 7 years old.
After moving to the UK, Jethro began modeling, including collaborations with Balenciaga, Versace and Celine.
Nick Cave has also lost another son, Arthur, who died at the age of 15 after falling off a cliff in Brighton.
