Snapchat has released a new premium service where you get more options if you pay for the app, but some users are calling some elements of the premium version "dangerous".
For a cost of $3.99 per month, you get access to "exclusive, experimental, and pre-release features," which means you get some new features that a regular profile doesn't.
This allows you to do things like choose who your best friend is in the app, as well as see how many of your friends have reviewed stories you've posted.
Plus, you get a special kind of in-app icon that lets everyone know you're a Snapchat+ member.
However, not every part of the package has been welcomed as some users are criticizing Snapchat for introducing a "dangerous" feature.
The controversial new feature is called "Ghost Trails" and allows users to see where their friends have been in the last 24 hours.
If your friend has their location visible on the app, then Snapchat+ users can see where they've been in the last day, and some people think that's a really bad idea.
The option shows you through the map, the places where your friend has been, as well as the route he took to move during the day.
One person suggested that the Ghost Trails feature essentially encourages stalking, while one user called on Snapchat to "remove the new feature immediately".
Unfortunately, location tracking technology is rife with abuse.
Snapchat has released a statement about the backlash against potential misuse of the Ghost Trails feature.
They said:
"Sharing location on Snap Map is an individual choice, not mandatory."
Snapchat+ has been rolled out in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, France, Germany, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
