Do you remember the moment when you seem to be bursting with food, even if you have unbuttoned your pants or shirt with style, the waiter politely comes and asks you "Dessert"?
The brain says "yes", the heart "poooo", the stomach does not have the strength to speak and of course, you say "yes, the menu please". Here, this whole process, when we can't say "no" to a dessert that tells us with pleading eyes "marble", has a scientific explanation and a certain term, "dessert stomach".
On top of this, several studies have been carried out, which show that we get bored by consuming the same food, but our hunger is miraculously "revived" when we are offered a new food. So after pastries, we need a tiramisu or souffle. According to Dr. Barbara Rolls, professor and researcher with 40 years of experience, the more we consume a food, the fuller we will feel from it.
The study was also conducted with other participants, who were divided into two groups:
The first group consumed four plates of the same food.
The second group, four dishes with other ingredients.
In the end, the second group consumed about 60% more calories, as they were interested and curious to try the dishes, while the first group lost interest very quickly (and rightfully so).
The same theory should be followed in our daily diets as we should consume a wide range of foods in order to enjoy them and get pleasure and benefits from them.
