Do I seem to worry about white discharge during/after sex?

White secretions are fluids that come out of the vagina during and after sexual activity. Some of them are intended to help sexual relations. These fluids are normal. They are usually translucent to milky white in color. In other cases, white discharge is caused by an infection. Let's look at the possible reasons for what causes them, during or after sexual activity.

The excitement

Excitement is a common cause of discharge. Normally, vaginal secretions are clear or milky in color. This liquid cleans, protects and lubricates the vagina. When you are sexually stimulated, the secretions are more visible. As long as the penetration is not painful, there is no problem.

Changes in the menstrual cycle

It is normal for vaginal discharge to change throughout the menstrual cycle. At the beginning and at the end, you may have secretions with a thick texture and white color. During ovulation, vaginal discharge is translucent in color, like egg white.

White discharge after intercourse

Generally, white discharge after intercourse indicates an infection.

When should you go to the doctor?

See a doctor if the discharge looks and smells different than usual. If the color is yellow, green or gray, you have reason to worry. You should also seek medical help if you have: pain during sexual activities, painful urination, abdominal pain, pelvic pain, itching, burning, redness, sores, etc.

If you don't have any of these symptoms, your vaginal discharge is probably very normal.
