Director Greta Gerwig's Barbie movie has inspired a cultural and fashion trend known as Barbiecore – which is about embracing the color pink. Now, the love for this color has gone to another level: pink coffins.
The New York Post reports that funeral services are offering pink caskets to fans hoping to take their love for the doll to the grave.
According to their claims, the pink coffin represents the spark and energy of the unforgettable moments they lived, a reminder that stories deserve to be remembered and celebrated in color.
One company, Olivares Funeral Home, is promoting the "Barbie House" casket with the slogan: "So you can rest like Barbie."
Alpha and Omega Funeral Home in Ahuachapán, El Salvador, offers a Barbie-themed casket, although they were ahead of the trend and launched their pink casket about a year ago.
