The "Livin' La Vida Loca" singer spoke for the first time about the separation from her husband, Jwan Yosef, to whom she was married for six years. In an interview with Telemundo Puerto Rico, the artist indicated that his separation from his partner had started before the pandemic period.

“Jwan and I will always be family. We have two children that we will raise together. The separation did not happen so simply, we had planned the situation since before the pandemic." He added: "When the public found out, we had passed the most difficult period. We knew it was for our own good and the well-being of our children. We are better than ever, even though we are apart."

Martin and Yosef, through a joint statement in early July, announced the divorce decision to the public.

The "Tiburone" singer formalized the relationship with his partner in 2016 when the pair attended the red carpet of the AmfAR Gala. That same year, they announced that they were engaged. He and Yosef have two children: daughter Lucia and son Renn. Artist Martin is also the father of 14-year-old twins Matteo and Valentino, who were born to a surrogate mother in 2008.

"Our greatest desire now is to have a healthy family dynamic and a relationship centered on true friendship while raising our children," their divorce filing said. "We thank you for all the love and support we received throughout our marriage. We are together in this new chapter of life."
