Billy Porter criticized Harry Styles' Vogue cover again and called Anna Wintour a "whore".
During an interview with the Telegraph, he spoke disparagingly of Vogue and editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, citing the fact that Harry Styles was presented as a figure who broke gender stereotypes in terms of fashion when he appeared on the cover of Vogue in clothes traditionally associated with women.
"It's not Harry Styles' fault that he's a white, cool, gay man," said Porter, who has come out as gay.
As for Wintour, Porter said he spoke with the magazine's editor-in-chief about how to use Vogue to push a genderless fashion approach before Harry appeared on the cover.
"That bitch said to me at the end, 'How can we do better?'" He advised her to use the power of Vogue to promote the leaders of this movement for fashion that goes beyond gender stereotypes.
Porter has previously criticized Styles' historic cover.
“I changed the whole game,” he told the Sunday Times in October 2021. “And that's not ego, that's fact. I was the first to do it and now everyone is doing it.”
The Emmy winner then claimed he was attacking Vogue and not Harry personally. "Harry Styles, I apologize for mentioning your name," he said at the time on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert."
"It's not about you. The conversation is not about you. The conversation is actually deeper than that. It's about systems of oppression and erasure of people of color who contribute to culture.”
