After the harsh accusations, Drew Barrymore is forced to cancel the show

Drew Barrymore's talk show will go on hiatus for the time being after the actress came under fire for deciding to continue producing and broadcasting it while more than 11,000 TV and film writers are on strike.

After the criticism, Drew announced that he will stop broadcasting "The Talk".

"I've heard everyone and I'm making the decision to put the show on hold until the strike is over," Barrymore wrote in a statement posted on her Instagram page.

"I have no words to apologize to anyone I've hurt and, of course, to our incredible team who work on the show and made it what it is today. I really hope for an industry-wide solution very soon," she wrote.

Barrymore's statement comes after a tumultuous week for the actress and TV host, who faced criticism from the Writers Guild of America (WGA) after defending her decision to restart the show without WGA writers amid multiple strikes in Hollywood.

The WGA went on strike in May after its members were unable to negotiate a new contract with studios and broadcasters. In July, SAG-AFTRA, the union representing 160,000 actors and performers, followed the WGA's lead.
